360 Extreme Explorer (Chrome 69 for Windows XP)

If you remove the jisu file *complately* you will be left with this rather bland skin(less) - not all that bad, considering one might want little colors.

Otherwise, you'd need to find a skin from another way, but arctic foxie doesn't recommend it, although I DO change my skin from an early build, because, as you can see, I use the classic theme on my XP so the blue looks out of place ... at least to my eyes.
Actually, rather than remove the jisu file altogether, copy and paste somewhere for safe keeping, then right click on the jisu file and edit with notepad and delete and create empty (fake jisu) file to please the application. If you are using 360 without a loader, you'll need to go through the registry and remove a lot and Humming Own taught me to lock down the reg files.

Still hoping there will be some updates for us, but, sadly, I doubt it and V13.5 appears to be our last hope for this. :(

You're right, I have soo many sticky notes posted everywhere and mercy me, I've not a clue what they are for now.

I just installed the latest version of NoScript without issue.

What extension are you trying to install? Maybe it's buggy or even malware. Google Chrome Strore is plagued constantly with malicious extenstions that steal passwords etc. which is why you should only install well-known extensiions from long-time authors, not from someone who just made their first extension.

Any future update scheduled for this? I can't install Chrome extensions on it anymore.
Sad to say, I don't think we'll see updates to these browsers ... which is a pity, but enjoy while they work. FTR ... I still use 360V11 most of the time as V13 is rough with little in the way of resources.

There are sites I can't even login anymore because it won't load the captcha, and whenever I try to install an extension the download button says "not compatible" and I can't click on it for download.

Is there a place where I can download the latest Arctic Fox compiled for Windows XP? It's the only browser I can think of to try.

Hi,
I'd like to know if there is a setting in 360 Chrome v13 that will avoid this
annoyance:

Whenever I go to bitchute.com I get this:

I have to refresh 2-3x and then the page will load but note the red markings in
the url bar.

What am I missing to avoid this?

Thanks.

BTW I'm using Humming Owl. The Artic Foxie version won't allow bitchute at all.

Seems to work fine in ArcticFoxie's 360 Chrome 13.5 (you can tell the difference because AF's version is XP-themed).

The red markings are an indication that the site is loading HTTP, not HTTPS (note the crossed out HTTPS in red). This is because all Chrome browsers rely on Windows system certificates which in XP's case are expired. (Mozilla based browsers use internal certificates). I'm not sure how to update XP's TLS certificates, maybe someone else can shed some light.

After some searching there is a setting in chrome that will allow TLS 1.3 to work properly in HummingOwl's 360 Extreme Explorer 11 (this setting is unavailable in ArcticFoxie's 360 Extreme Explorer 13.5).

In the URL bar type in chrome://flags (similar to mozilla's about:config):

In the search field type in tls and then scroll through the results until you see "Sets the TLS 1.3 variant used" - click on the "default" button and select "Enabled (Final)". You will have to restart 360Chrome.

After you restart you should be able to connect to most HTTPS sites (including BitChute):

The connection errors you are experiencing could be glitches with HummingOwl's 360 EE V13 - I had issues with that version (slow loading etc.s) when I started this thread which is why I used V11. ArcticFoxie's v13.5 seems to work fine other than the HTTPS issue with some sites. I keep both on my XP system. They can be run simultaneously without conflict (I have Bitchute video playing in HO's 360Chrome 11 and Youtube video playing in AF 360Chrome 13.5).

I accidentally changed 360 Extreme Explorer to Dark theme. Does anyone know how to change it back lol ? I don't know how this happened. I have the slight impression that I pressed some key(shortcut?) right after I executed the browser, but there's no shortcut for such a thing shown in the Options.

Disappointing but not surprising as websites evolve. There are still other alternatives - DC Browser, 360Chrome 13 and Serpent 55. MyPal 29 froze when trying to play video and MyPal 68 won't even load Youtube.

There is no one browser to rule them all in XP - you will have to keep several alternatives because there will always be some websites that work in one but won't work in another.

Yeah ... I was hoping for V11 for a lot longer, but now I've switched to AF V13.0.2170.0 and have had no issues other than the fact that its heavier than V11 was.

Yeah, My Pal 29 freezes but unfreezes after 15 seconds and Mypal 68 is working for me on YT right now.

user_pref("general.oscpu.override", "Windows NT 10.0");
user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win32; x86; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0");

MyPal 68 plays YouTube for me too. I've been using Invidious mostly to watch YouTube but it needs to update IMO.

MyPal 29 now freezes for a painful 70 seconds and then youtube is fine (sort of) but I use:

user_pref("general.buildID.override", "20100101");
user_pref("general.oscpu.override", "Windows NT 10.0");
user_pref("general.useragent.compatMode.version", "62");
user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win32; x86; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0");

And its way better than with the default and its better if you give it above normal priority. I don't use plug-ins or extensions, and (of course) MyPal 29 is a bit 'long in the tooth' now. :p

Yeah, but we now have Arctic Fox here at our forum with his new project, but we're just waiting for his links as soon as the mods approve it.

A word of warning when using YouTube "front ends".
Many "front ends" force AV1 codec for videos and this is VERY hard on older CPUs.
Just getting rid of the "clutter" that YouTube puts on the "side" doesn't mean you have a "friendlier" video experience.

It has been my experience that the best and easiest-on-CPU is to use YOUTUBE and NOT "front ends".
But then force 30FPS versus 60FPS and force VP9 or AVC codecs over AV1 codec.

Thanks.

How would I do that?
is this a browser setting in MyPal/360?

BTW just installed your latest 360. I am on a learning curve with chrome. I'll give any feedback/data I can. My system is XP SP3 Pentium D 2.8 GHz 3 gigs RAM.
