360 Extreme Explorer (Chrome 69 for Windows XP)

After some searching there is a setting in chrome that will allow TLS 1.3 to work properly in HummingOwl's 360 Extreme Explorer 11 (this setting is unavailable in ArcticFoxie's 360 Extreme Explorer 13.5).

In the URL bar type in chrome://flags (similar to mozilla's about:config):

In the search field type in tls and then scroll through the results until you see "Sets the TLS 1.3 variant used" - click on the "default" button and select "Enabled (Final)". You will have to restart 360Chrome.

After you restart you should be able to connect to most HTTPS sites (including BitChute):

The connection errors you are experiencing could be glitches with HummingOwl's 360 EE V13 - I had issues with that version (slow loading etc.s) when I started this thread which is why I used V11. ArcticFoxie's v13.5 seems to work fine other than the HTTPS issue with some sites. I keep both on my XP system. They can be run simultaneously without conflict (I have Bitchute video playing in HO's 360Chrome 11 and Youtube video playing in AF 360Chrome 13.5).

Sorry for late response, been away for a while.
Thank you Mr. Beer! Yes I found What you suggested but it did not change the annoyance. However I perceive a slight decrease in how many times I must refresh.

That said, it is moot as I am transitioning to the AF 13 versions anyway.

Disappointing but not surprising as websites evolve. There are still other alternatives - DC Browser, 360Chrome 13 and Serpent 55. MyPal 29 froze when trying to play video and MyPal 68 won't even load Youtube.

There is no one browser to rule them all in XP - you will have to keep several alternatives because there will always be some websites that work in one but won't work in another.
Not sure how much longer DCBrowser will last unless its updated as its been not rendering all sites correctly :(

Ugh ... I'd take 'one for the team' if I thought it would help and try to install the Chinese installer to get the new api files and perhaps replace and update, but I'd need to know how to do this, I don't (know how) but am willing to learn with (more than a little) assistance.

What do you think @msfntor ... possible on XP I wonder or Linux (I do use Linux)?

I am looking and think we could get it up to chrome 75, at least or update. Looking at it, it seems like a new browser altogether from Vista and up, but, again, I'm not sure.

I've never aproached to Linux, my buddy...stay on my Windows XP SP2, and it's no problem to me.
I don't download anything (no videos etc games...), so my tweaked PC is always light and works fast, to read websites and watch Youtube videos... I often go out (2 times normally), I don't like doctors, I eat healthy, so my life is not bad...

We do not need any of the "anti-Chinese" posts here, in my personal opinion.
Technically, my paranoia is against INSTALLERS period.
If I cannot EXTRACT the "installer" contents and view what is "inside", then I do NOT "install" on my computer!
I may "install" in a VM and test there, but I do not "trust" INSTALLERS - don't care what country they originated from.

Ah it is chinese installer... I suggest you don't touch anything chinese, you never know if it is with some malwares?..
Ok, maybe a mistake I'd regret. Understood.

Understood, thank you.

I know exactly what it is! Just can't think of what the javascript function is "called" offhand.
Something to do with an "escape".
It's also why my savings account does not work in ANYTHING other than 360Chrome v13 or v13.5.
ALL of roytam's releases are "worthless" to me if I cannot access my savings account.
I do keep monitoring NM28 as it was actually always my favorite.

Bitchute doesn't work on anything but V13, not even Mypal or Serpent 52 nor 55 ...Thoughts?
If you mean things working beyond the basics, like comments and +More button etc. then to my knowledge 360 v13 is the only one. Regarding MyPal 29 and Palemoon 28, the legacy uBlock Origin works well. Have to toggle it to use the search function and to scroll down past first page.

The red markings are an indication that the site is loading HTTP, not HTTPS (note the crossed out HTTPS in red). This is because all Chrome browsers rely on Windows system certificates which in XP's case are expired. (Mozilla based browsers use internal certificates). I'm not sure how to update XP's TLS certificates, maybe someone else can shed some light.
Windows system certificates? Are they same/related to the:
authroots.sst
delroots.sst
roots.sst
updroots.sst
certificates?
Using https://www.howsmyssl.com/ (Yeah, we really mean "TLS", not "SSL".) all looks well.
What are TLS Certificates?

I am able to update all root certificates on XP:
I found this posting on msfn here (thanks to member heinoganda):
https://msfn.org/board/topic/175170-root-certificates-and-revoked-certificates-for-windows-xp/
I took the info and made my own personal guide from it (THIS IS NOT A GUIDE):

Staring from Scratch:

Updating Revoked Roots:
1- Download:

https://web.archive.org/web/20171119114944/http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/secu/2015/03/rvkroots_3f2ce4676450c06f109b5b4e68bec252873ccc21.exe

2- Unzip to a folder:
In "rvkroots.inf" the entry in the string VERSION should be changed to "5,0,2195,0" and the VER entry changed to "005".

3- Download .sst Certificate:
http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/disallowedcert.sst
Replace older file.

4- Create SFX:
Create Self-Extracting Archive (SFX) with WinRAR all files in the folder to an archive option SFX with the following comment*:

TempMode
Silent=0
Overwrite=1
Setup=Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rvkroots.inf,DefaultInstall

*Optional -> Silent=0
Pack and you have a current update for blocking unsafe Certificates!
I create with the name: rvkroots_XP Update Hack.exe

Updating Roots:
1- Download:

https://web.archive.org/web/20170829230259/http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe

2- Unzip to a folder:
In "rootsupd.inf" entry in the string VERSION should "40,0,2195,0" loud and in VER "040"

3- Download 4 .sst Certificates:
http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authroots.sst
Replace older file.

http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/delroots.sst
Replace older file.

http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/roots.sst
Replace older file.

http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/updroots.sst
Replace older file.

4- Create SFX:
Create Self-Extracting Archive (SFX) with WinRAR all files in the folder to an archive option SFX with the following comment*:

TempMode
Silent=0
Overwrite=1
Setup=Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rootsupd.inf,DefaultInstall

*Optional -> Silent=0

Pack and you have a current root certificate update!
I create with the name: rootsupd_XP Update Hack.exe

To update approximately every 3 months, overwrite the resident .sst files in the SFX archive. No need to start from scratch.

can't speak for dc browser.
but for 360chrome 13.5.2022 there is a trick to get a green padlock on most sites.
right click the shortcut to the 360loader.exe.
select properties / compatibility / set compatibility mode to windows 2000.
as a result , this will also now present you with the option to store passwords in the browser.
