What PC do you use for Windows XP?

My Dell Latitude D600 Specs:
CPU: Intel Pentium M 1.4 GHz
RAM: 2GB DDR-333 (Used to be 256MB)
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 (32MB)
HDD: 40GB Hitachi Travelstar 5400RPM (IDE)
OS: Windows XP Home Edition SP3 (Used to be SP1)

I have a Dell Latitude D600. The daughter board is bad making the power button inoperable. I re-soldered it but the junction is so small it was a real pain and the joint broke again after a while of repair. I got some new precision tips. Have to tin them, do a job on my guitar and then fix that Dell Latitude D600 daughter board again. Your post is what inspired me.

Glad I inspired you to fix it up, I'd say go for it, the D600 is a great Windows XP Laptop.

How's the Latitude D600 Repair?

Man I've been swamped. In the middle of doing a custom XP for a friend. Thanks fro the reminder. :)
Nice job making custom XP builds. Also, once you get your D600 working, the HDD is ok for now, but the RAM should be upgraded to 2GB. It makes a great XP laptop.

I have a Toshiba Satellite P-25 which was out 2002-3 pretty much mint except for blown deck speakers... 3 fans with a heavy power supply & thick cord not made like that anymore, yup, single-core but speedy 2.85 GHZ which was insane for the time, 11-12 pounds you could easily kill someone if used as a weapon... Only 32 MB video RAM though with one of those nVidia 5200 GO graphics so poor for 3D but great for audio creation big 17 inch screen...

Finding a place where I can use it regular, I'd like to see how long it will last... Probably will last longer than a new machine somebody buys TODAY as new crap is throw-away... Maybe it might last 30-40 years...

That D600 for 10 bucks was a sweet deal... I have a D820 & a D830 & a D400... I got the D400 in 2013 for 20 bucks, still works great just has an arrow key missing...

Nice laptops! The D600 also has 32MB of VRAM

I did it again! I got an HP Compaq D530 SFF for $15 at the thrift store, everything was there but an hdd, so I put one in and used the "HP Restore Plus!" Images for this PC on the archive to get OEM Windows XP.
Specs:
CPU - Intel Pentium 4 (3GHz) Socket 478
RAM - 512MB (Dual Channel) DDR1
HDD - 1TB Seagate SATA HDD I had sitting around
OS - Windows XP Professional (HP OEM)

Just come across images for when I rendered out a terragen scene in old D400... It was faster than I had thought at 5 hours 59 minutes & 9 seconds in the D400 using terragen 3.4.0.0 32bits of course... Goes to show that terragen don't give a damn about GPU as D400 only got 64 MB vid RAM & this terragen build is from like 2015 or so-

The render-

Update: My HP Compaq D530 has bad caps now, I need to get a soldering iron or maybe a repair shop can do it, but I will get this PC fixed.
