    STAR WARS as a franchise is maybe 1-5% original idea, 95-98% borrowed concepts from the East:

    If LucasArts looked at this...

    [IMG]

    ... to come up with the design for Darth Vader...

    [IMG]

    ... then, what did they read to come up with the story for STAR WARS?

    Answer: The Condor Trilogy (1957-1963)

    Chinese Anakin Skywalker with Chinese Padmé Amidala from The Condor Trilogy (2017 adapation):

    [IMG]
    [IMG]

    (Image above: Yang Kang and Mu Nianci main characters from The Condor Trilogy (2017 depiction of 1957-1963 work), from whom the concepts for the characters Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala in STAR WARS were derived...)

    It was the Chinese, whom invented the story structure for STAR WARS and its main characters:

    Example 1: Senator Palpatine vying for power in STAR WARS Episodes I-III / Golden Wheel Monk striving to become "Leader of the Martial Arts Realm" in Legend of the Condor Heroes anime (2001):

    Example 2: Darth Maul, Emperor Palpatine, and The Viceroy of STAR WARS were derived from the characters Da'Erba, Jinlun Guoshi (The Golden Wheel Monk), and Prince Huodu respectively (top image below, left to right) in The Legend of the Condor Heroes anime (2001 adaptation of 1957-1963 work):

    And, if Maul looks too skinny/lightweight compared to the heavy-weight Da'Erba above, then try this more muscular Maul:

    Why the name Yang Kang from The Condor Trilogy (1957-1963) is just as epic as the name Luke Skywalker, Dorothy Gale, or Bilbo Baggins:

    Yang is the surname, an allusion to Yin and Yang, you know the primordial/Biblical Adam...

    [IMG]

    Lastly, nobody sells +100 million copies of their work without it being epic:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jin_Yong (The author of The Condor Trilogy)

    (The man who single-handedly invented the story structure and characters for ALL past and present STAR WARS Episodes, and the many more episodes yet to come beyond Episode IX...)

    [IMG]

    P.S. the only kinds of fights/martial arts found in this author's works are NOT the wire-fu stunts you see in a lot of Chinese movies, but the classic fights involving releasing one's "Chi-energy" or remotely picking up objects by a mysterious "force" to launch at enemies, exactly where LucasArts derived the idea of The Force...

    List of Chinese inventions which eventually found their way to the West:

    -> Papermaking

    -> The compass

    -> Gunpowder

    -> Printing (both woodblock and movable type)

    -> Maneuverable hypersonic glide vehicle (soon/future)

    -> "STAR WARS" (aka The Condor Trilogy):

    (Btw, I highly doubt US would win in a direct confrontation w China let alone in her back yard. In such a confrontation, it would be the one who reads The Art of War or clones STAR WARS vs the one who invented both...)

    The US military studies it religiously. In fact it forms the modus operandi for all actions taken by the US. For example, "It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them; if double, be able to divide them; if equal, engage them; if fewer, defend against them; if weaker, be able to avoid them." Afghanistan/Iraq wars and numerous others initiated by the USA anyone?

    -> Maneuverable hypersonic glide vehicle:

    These re-enter the atmosphere at a speed of Mach 10. USA current has nothing, zero, zip, nil to defend against such a missile attack tipped with a nuclear warhead.

    -> "STAR WARS" (aka The Condor Trilogy from which the characters and story backbone/structure for all STAR WARS episodes past, present, future were/will be derived)

    Sure, other countries have done it before. But, nobody has ever done it grand & majestic Chinese style. Will the USA copy this style too in the future?

    Close to Avatar Hallelujah Mountain in Zhangjiajie, China (where the inspiration for the James Cameron movie Avatar was derived) a glass bridge was recently erected just like this one:

    Btw, the recent Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) ruling against China that was initiated unilaterally by the Philippines (and which China has refused to participate in and even rebuked its outcome) has nothing to do with the UN, which has an official court called the International Court of Justice.

    So far, China has violated ZERO international (UN) rules in the South China Sea. The PCA (a for-profit organization) just so happens to rent space in the same building as the as the UN’s International Court of Justice, but the two organizations are not related:
