Dual booting Windows XP with Windows XP

    Probably. It looks like there was either a glitch with the installer or there was a slight software difference. Either way, it shouldn't hurt.

    it is something to do with DEP, I believe you had a question before on that.

    Specifically, it controls how--and whether--DEP runs at startup.

    So what do you think I should do. Leave it alone as it is or should I edit XP Professional 1 also to read /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn (the way it appears in XP Professional 2)?

    If you edit it, you can always just boot to a Linux CD to fix it if it goes bad.

    That's what I thought of doing. Thinking about it further, what if I create and save system images of both XPs and then edit the Boot.ini. If something goes wrong I can recover the images to the 2 partitions. What do you think of this?
