the updates are still available through the microsoft update catalog.
I fortunately had all the updates downloaded through using portup, a program that updates your pc offline, after loading all the updates online first.
a lengthy project.
I could upload all of them that I have to my onedrive, but this could take forever as my isp only has approx 4mbps upload capabilities.
Does IE 8 still supported by web browsing?

xp updates are through the ms update catalogue , i have tired the ms auto update a few time in the last few months and it seems ms have now killed it ,get them while you can as i think the catalogue will be next
