Can WinXP Pro 64 run all 32bit apps?

At the moment I'm having a problem with updates..... Linux is asking for a CD which I don't have, and didn't need last time I installed this.
What CD does it want? Also, what version are you installing? You mention updates. Try disconnecting completely from the Internet before installing to keep Mint from seeing the available updates.

Yes, a 32-bit software can be run on a 64-bit Operating System. When a 32-bit software is launched, in Windows, for example, an emulator is also launched for it.

Sorry about the delayed reply.... I'm in the middle of a remodel here.

Anywho.... ran the Mint install a 2nd time and this time did NOT choose "install along side Windows" and all was normal. (chose "something else" instead).

As I discovered, and other users have confirmed, WinXPpro64 is very finicky about which 32 bit apps it will actually run. I had more problems than it was worth and replaced the OS with 32 bit version.
