XP (SP3) Fresh installation on Dell Dimension 8300 hangs at 25mins

    Hi there, my first post here so hello everyone!

    Wonder if anyone can shed some light on this situation for me, I'm building a retro gaming rig on a
    Dell Dimension 8300
    P4 Processor
    2GB ram.
    ATI Radion HD 4650 AGP

    my problem is the installation seems to just stop at 25mins remaining, if I press shift + F11 the progress bar still comes up and if I press shift + F10 the command prompt still comes up so the system is still responding.

    seems to get stuck on "Terminal Services - Configuring core Terminal services"

    any ideas what could be going wrong and how to fix this?

    what media are you using for install?

    did you completely wipe the drive with dban first?
