xp refurbished disk question

    I have a xp sp3 professional disk provided to me with a refurbished laptop (Dell Latitude). Can I use this disk to install xp on any other laptop? or a pc? The disk does not show any mark of Dell or any EOM. It show Microsoft windows xp professional.

    the cd can be used to install on any pc, the trick is that you must have a valid license.

    you can look on the side, or on the bottom for the 25 digit key, that will tell Microsoft that the installation is legitimate.

    you cannot install professional on a home edition pc.

    If you put the cd in the cd drive and choose explore you can read the files and see if it is an OEM cd.
