XP on Vista machine

I've got a Dell Latitude D-620 with a Windows Vista sticker on the bottom. I installed XP on it, but it didn't seem to run very well. Is XP not fully compatible on this computer? Thank you much

did you go to the above website and download the necessary xp drivers?

remember that with dell there is a certain order to install drivers first either DSS or Nss depending if it is a laptop (NSS) or a desktop (DSS)

and then the chipset

all others follow.

 

Thanks for the link. I tried to get Dell to get into my laptop and XP OS, and tell me what drivers I needed, but I couldn't get the software file to install

you are welcome, I cannot get dell to search my pc either, I believe that they have stopped that service, I get all kinds of errors when I try to install the software, also.

 

Snappy Driver Installer can and will solve all of your problems if you can't find drivers.

 

@PJAmerica, hi have not seen you around lately.

I read a review by Tim Fischer on the snappy driver installer, and it does not say whether it will have drivers for an older OS being installed on a newer pc??

 

I am around. I lurk mostly. Not sure about newer PCs either. I used it on a 2011 Dell Inspiron PC and it works on my Dell Optiplex 755 2008 & Dell Dimension 3000 2004. I cannot attest to anything else. I have told friends about it who have newer PCs though and they were amazed by it.
