    there is a problem

when you say loading user settings, what screen is this?

Does not matter what the files are if they are in tmp folders or have .tmp file extension they can be deleted, sometimes an antivirus will have an undeletable temp file, but that is the only one I know of.

what do you have starting up on your pc?

go to start/ run/ type in msconfig / then choose startup tab, what is listed?

    Hi Elizabeth
I have attached pictures of the startup files, there are quite a lot of them, and two pics of the actual startup screens, screen1 is the first screen with both Administrator and user icons, I then select user (Madsen), this is where the Gizmo then decides to go to sleep.
I have also attached a screendump of the Temp directory, with the folders I can't delete
    Kind regards
    Erik

No wonder it takes forever, you do not need all that on startup, the only thing really needed is the antivirus, but I also have ERUNT which I use instead of system restore. see attached.

uncheck all of them, and then go HERE, black viper's website has many links and info on what services are really necessary to run as either disabled/auto/manual
and each service can be clicked on for further info, there is a link for some odd services, much info.

please check these out, and then see if your pc starts any better, mine takes approx 20 seconds to load my desktop, my av runs a quick scan so after a minute the desktop is all mine. :)

reply 2: try in safe mode to delete files, these are all unneeded, any .dll required by windows is in the system 32 folder.
