Windows XP Plus! Labyrinth

This might sound weird but i have a windows xp copy with xp plus!. every time i try to open the plus! game called Labyrinth it just pops up with a gray box where the program should be and then vanishes. how can i get this game working?

 

did this game ever work on that particular pc?

if there is a folder for the game in c:/programs, open and look for a .exe for the game, click on it and does it open?

you might run chkdsk with the /r parameter to see if it will be fixed.

 

q1 i was using a vm so i would not know
q2 i have tried to open it in the games page in ms plus it did not open. so is that different? also is it program files or just programs because i do not have a c:\programs. also the games folder in ms plus is in the program files.
(i may try to use chkdsk soon)

 

somewhere within your pc is the .exe for labyrinth, right click on your shortcut or on the icon for labyrinth and choose properties, there should be a box with target, go to that place and you will find the files for labyrinth, then see if the .exe will open from that point.

do run the checkdisk

 

ok. but i read somewhere that chkdsk /r takes hours.

 

The game is located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Plus!\Games\The Labyrinth Plus! Edition and checkdisk is not going to help

 

checkdisk runs depending on the size of your harddrive, mine is 80gb and takes approx 3.5 hours or less,

checkdisk is the first step when troubleshooting

 

i have tried to open it there.
