Windows Search 3.01 Download

    Hi everybody!

    I was wondering if anybody has a copy of Windows Search 3.01 for Win XP. Microsoft has removed that download from their Website and even Internet Archive does't seem to have a copy….

    Does anybody have it ?

    Do you mean this completely deletes the default search program of XP and replaces it?

    Yes,but you can uninstall windows seaech and get the good old search

    windows search is an optional program and it was initially plagued with problems, I have never installed it as I have used the search companion since forever. never had any problems, :)

    Now I have got it. I never knew about 'windows search' until I read about it here in this thread. If search companion is good enough for you, it is more than good enough for me too. I'll give 'windows search' a miss. Thank you for clarifying this :)

    I use Ultrasearch.

    https://www.jam-software.com/ultrasearch/

    It is FAST! However it only sees ATA (ide) & SATA connected drives. Still have to use 'whatever you use' for usb connected memory.
    Its free & for 32 or 64 bit machines.
