Windows Movie Maker 2.6: wcsncpy_s could not be found in msvcrt.dll

I installed Windows Movie Maker 2.6 on my Windows XP OS with service pack 3, every time I try to use it, an error message pops up and says:

The procedure entry point wcsncpy_s could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll


is there any way to fix this? any info on why this is happening?

according to above site, xp is only rated for version 2.1 which comes preinstalled with the os.

For XP users: Windows Movie Maker is automatically installed to your computer when you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP2). It is not available as a separate download.
