Will Windows Update will be working in the future?

Hello!
So i was thinking will Microsoft will leave the Windows Update site in the future? I dont want to happen as for 98 and me the update site got down for them in 2010. So any answers?

Microsoft update catolog doesnt show all the xp updates i already did not found 2013 2014 xp updates i only find updates upto 2011 :/
 
when I search, I generally know the kb number and in the search box I type in the number, for example: 2224551 then hit search and it will list several and you have to look for which one is for the flavor of your xp.

you might also choose security as a search word or sp3, you have to try different words, and if you click on the date it will reverse to the latest updates on down.
