Which office suite in laptop with only 256mb RAM?

    thanks to your help I had installed the mypal browser, now I need some office package (no m$-office), but openoffice claims 512mb ; should I install some old version of openoffice? What do you think about?

    i reccomend you to install ms office 2003 it suits the best for windows xp and its more lightweight than openoffice, you can find some iso images with the key in a txt file on a popoular torrent search site.

    also dont forget to install the compatibility pack Scarica Office Compatibility Pack 12.0.6612.1000 per Windows - Filehippo.com
    it enables you to view files made in modern versions of office in office2003, if you dont have it you wont be able to proprely open files made in versions newer than office 2007 and since most ppl use modern office its almost a must have, and it should not impact performance, it will be slower to open files from newer versions since it has to convert but at least for me works perfectly
