Which browser in laptop with only 256m RAM?

That's the question; I own a good old thinkpad a31p with just 256mb, have tried some browsers like Firefox and mypal without success (trying to get youtube videos working), any hint here? Thanks in Advance

The Lenovo ThinkPad a31p laptop comes with 256 MB of DDR-266(PC-2100) RAM, but it supports up to 2 GB(2048 MB), so you do have the option of adding more.

It comes with an Intel Mobile Pentium 4-M 1.70 or 1.80 or 2.00 GHz single core processor.

It comes with an ATI Mobility FireGL 7800 graphics device.

The MyPal 28.14.2 browser works fine for me in Windows XP SP3 32-bit, but the specs in my computer are much newer and faster than what they are in your laptop.

(most current version)

It's my guess the extremely weak specs in your laptop is what's preventing it from working properly.

My Compaq V2000 has lower specs than yours and although mine has more memory (512MB vs your 256MB) it can play Youtube videos just fine in MyPal, albeit a little slow. Youtube and most other video websites are Javascript-heavy and therefore require a LOT of CPU time to render. Youtube should play on your PC except it will take a long time to start playing due to the excessive disk-swapping required as a result of your PC only having 256MB. You need to be patient or add more memory.

Use KM-Goanna browser
Before I discovered MyPal/Centaury my favorite alternative to the bloat of Firefox on XP was K-Meleon. Feature-wise it has stagnated (limited extension support and crippled HTML5 capabilities).

KM-Goanna isn't really worth considering anymore especially with MyPal/Centaury being updated regularly.

mypal will never let you down its an awesome browser, basically its one guy keeping milions of xp machines alive and useful for productivity
