    I agree with Lex24 on this one. Bits and pieces of source code from older Windows versions have been leaked out over the years, but legally you'd be walking a serious tightrope if you tried to use any of it. ReactOS is probably your safest bet if you want to get a good feel for how MS coded their older operating systems. FreeDOS is also quite fascinating.
