What is a good XP printer, 100.00 to 150.00

I want a low maintenance printer, I guess that means self refillable ink well instead of cartridges, I had a 30 pound Epson that was a work horse, but the ink carts cost a fortune.
I need a work horse, not a kids toy.

I am using a canon MX490, it uses ink cartridges but it works well with xp, the ink costs about 38 dollars for both color and black, the black by itself is about 18 dollars.
 
Hi Speedy---is your the pixma mx490 ?
1. how do you tell how many pages you can print from a B & W cart
2. also none of the ads im seeing say if these machines work without wy fy and can just use a wire USB port,
i see some other machines are 50 bucks less without a wy fy,
I am seeing this machine on net for 40.00 :eek:o_O
 
But what about XP drivers/software?

(I use a Samsung 2070 b/w laser printer Which did not have XP software on the install disk, an email to them finally got me what I needed {limited use, no wireless/network})
