    Hi all,

To protect Windows XP against WannaCrypt. I did the following steps.

1 - Installed the patch KB4012598 for XP

    2 - Restarted the PC

and then applied these two command lines to disable SMB1:

    3 - sc.exe config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb20/nsi

    4 - sc.exe config mrxsmb10 start= disabled

Is it necessary to apply step 3 and 4 to protect against WannaCrypt virus?

Thanks in advance for your help.
