Volume control icon missing from Task Bar

    In Sound and Audio Device Properties, when I select 'Place volume icon on the task bar', I get the message "Windows cannot display the volume control on the task bar because the volume control program has not been installed...".
    How can I install this?

    P.S. All audio functions are working fine.
