VirSyn Software Synthesizer 1.10 Win32 (2000) - Nice Sounding All Synth Composer>>>

The original first product from VirSyn which was a standalone Synth Composition Program with 12 channels multi-timbral... Quite a piece of code... One can also thru a virtual MIDI port use this as a MIDI sound module & since it has audio 'capture' everything is complete... Has a variety of MIDI Sync modes...

Sounds very good to my ears the FX sectors nice, smooth & plenty power...

I had made a tune which at the time I had stability problems but most all went away when I changed compatibility mode to 'Windows 95'...

This is all synth generation no you can't load WAVs or any other samples but there's plenty of drum sounds anyway & well thought-out synth presets...

There's automation of sorts in the sequencer area but other automation would be done 'realtime' as you are capturing audio manipulating the XY pads whilst the tape runs...

Small install too... I think this was about 300 bucks back then...

Tune I made, not very good as you can hear when I'm shoving filters offline with the XY pads whilst the 'tape was running'... I think most on here could do better-

I get "MIDI input error" window that says "A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system." and I hear no sound. Is this normal or do I need a fix?

I get that same error when using Making Waves with no MIDI keyboard plugged in (the one that it's looking for) but instead I have my wacom tablet plugged in so I think it's attempting to 'see' the wacom tablet as a MIDI input device but it's not right (of course)... So check what input devices you have plugged in... Since I get this exact same error on totally different application on totally different machine I expect one must look for the 'Fifth Column Probability' or hardware detection as an issue...

Make sure you set compat to windows 95 on the EXE then open MIDI devices & see what's there if anything, have a look at audio settings if you hear no sounds then load up one of their projects & hit play...

Fixed audio error.
How to set compat to Windows 95 and what would that help with? Also, if I have a physical keyboard, that means I can plug it in? I mean the instrument not text input device...

By the way, grasped the program almost immediately! Having an issue with end of sequence having a slight crackling noice, or is it just incompatibility with my headphones? Did you have a similar issue?

Rt-Click on the EXE & choose 'properties' then on that the 'Compatibility' TAB then choose 'Run in mode' the windows 95 choice...

This greatly enhances stability... That tune I made I probably had 25 crashes making it that was BEFORE changing to windows 95 compat after that I might have had one or two crashes...

So you have a MIDI keyboard?... Usually when you have a generic one it will be listed in MIDI inputs as 'USB GenericDevice' choose that but you will have to restart virsyn the device should always be plugged in BEFORE starting your audio-MIDI app....

OK on cracking issue you may need to turn the audio buffer UP in settings OR you may have a driver conflict with another driver that is already active so if THAT is the case then try switching to different audio driver...

Could you please tell me how to add new samples without replacing earlier ones? For example, I create one sample, set repetitions to 3, insert, then use 8D Access to make another with repetitions set to 4, insert, yet both sound the same! Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong in the "Song" tab?
