I have been told that I need a usb composite device driver to get a usb connected device to run. I have a Toshiba Satellite A120 laptop with XP Professional.

Where can I download this driver?

Would obtaining a new communication board, provided by the device vendor, solve the problem?

The only way to proceed would be by providing more information on WHAT USB device (make and model) you are trying to connect to your Toshiba laptop. Otherwise you are forcing us to rely on our psychic abilities which in my case, are non-existant.

Windows XP installs the "USB Composite Driver" when it is unable to determine the device your are connecting to it. You should always install the drivers first (install the software for Spooky which, according to the documentation, should install the correct drivers.

I chatted with one of the support reps and XP is supported.

I am not familiar with this particular device so can't offer much more in the way of help. I recommend you register with Spooky's support forums and see if they can assist you better.
