Suddenly no sound in mp4 or internet. Other files play Updated

avi flv mp3 mpg all play.
Checked settings on my player
Updated Firefox, Flash, Java etc

Cannot make the sound work with mp4 (different players) or
on the internet (YouTube etc)

What to do?
