    Hi!

I have recently installed XP on my Toshiba Satellite C40D-A laptop. I did a lot of research on drivers and have been successful in installing many of them. However, I am still having some major problems.

    Specs
    Computer: Toshiba Satellite C40D-A (laptop)
    Bios:
    TOSQCI - 1
    1.60
    INSYDE Corp. - 10000001
    XP Service Pack 3 installed

    Device Manager Screenshots
    (see attachments)

    Symptoms (to mention a few)
    - no sound
    - impossible to hibernate or "stand by"
    - USB ports do not all work
    - HDMI does not work
    - (this list is not exhaustive, but if these problems were resolved, it would be a good start. These are the major problems)

    Any takers?

    Thanks in advance,

    Fred

I forgot to join the second screen shot...

Here's the summary of it all (Device Manager):

    - problem with two different PCI devices
    - problem with Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
    - problem with "Other devices, ... Video Controller (VGA Compatible)"

You can find the suitable drivers for toshiba....
Try to find drivers which you didnt get access in device manager and install in and then restart your computer...also check update driver in DM.
