I have a Compaq Presario SR5414 which came originally with Windows Vista, however I changed to Windows XP and have lost all sound. When I go to msinfo32 it tells me drivers for the sound card are not installed. Can anyone tell me where to find the right drivers? When I go to the HP site they do not offer drivers for XP, I would be very grateful for a link that works to somewhere for the right drivers.

download for the sound in vista, but at the site below says it can be used with xp

according to above on HP site, your pc does not support xp downloads and you see what the manufacturer is of your sound card and go to that website and download a driver

Who is the manufacturer of your sound card??

from HP site look at step 7 and it will tell you which to uninstall and then let windows find new hardware.

this download will scan all hardware and should tell you what sound card you have.
