Hi, everyone. Thank you in advance for your help and attention to this matter.

I currently own a Sony Vaio VGN-N365E running Windows XP (it shipping with Windows Vista) and have noticed in the Device Manager that I have an alert about the "SM Bus Controller." When right-clicking on the SM Bus Controller and clicking "Properties," I receive the following dialogue: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)."

So, I downloaded CPU-Z to find out exactly what type of motherboard I have. I have an "i945GM."

So, I went to Intel's website and used their "Intel Driver Update Utility" to sort out my drivers and see what needs to be updated/installed. The Update Utility basically says that both of my Intel drivers are perfectly fine.

In any case, I went ahead and re-installed the driver for the chipset. The file was called "winxp_14324.exe," if that helps.

So, does anyone have a suggestion of what I might do to resolve this issue? If additional information is needed, I will supply it. Thank you so much.
