Slow start, no icons

    Hi,
    Some days ago I got a problem. My XP starts very slowly and when it ends starting, I don't have all usual icons in low right corner of desktop. Then I log off and log on again, and then it starts fast and all my icons are in place.
    So far for today, later I'll have more questions.

    read through several threads from the above search page, then start following the advice for a faster boot time.

    the first should be checking for infections
