Slow start, no icons

Hi,
Some days ago I got a problem. My XP starts very slowly and when it ends starting, I don't have all usual icons in low right corner of desktop. Then I log off and log on again, and then it starts fast and all my icons are in place.
So far for today, later I'll have more questions.
