Slipstream .NET 4.0 onto XP CD...?

I have used nLite to create a "final" XP installation CD, including SP3, WMP11, IE8, .NET v3.5, and all the hotfixes. It's great!

The only thing missing is .NET v4.0 (and its hotfixes).

Has anyone managed to slipstream .NET v4.0 onto the XP installation CD... or is there some reason that this is impossible...?

might be due to volume, you can only get so much on a cd, but, I see no reason why you cannot download the .net and slipstream it if you have done 3.5, slipstream 4.o the same way. :)

Haha! Size isn't the problem. ;-) I was referring to the original medium -- I have some dual-layer DVDs here if needed. :-D (And actually I'm using ISO files with virtual machines.)

To my surprise, I found downloads for .NET v4.0, and the update to v4.0.3 (the last version to support XP here): https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/on-windows-xp

So it sounds like I can scrap my archive of .NETv4 hotfixes and just apply those two.

I tried integrating with RVM... It works, but gives a tedious user-dialog sequence -- I want to keep the installation as "unattended" as possible.

I've just found a "true" (automated?) addon for .NET v4.0 from the good old ryanvm website. I'll give that a go for now... and have a look at v4.0.3 later.

Cheers all :)

Oh, I didn't notice -- the RyanVM download is already updated to v4.0.3! Perfect!
