is your system 64bit?? if not you should have sp3, it is several years old already and there are many updates after that.
For Windows XP SP2, you need to utilize the Wayback Machine (Archive.org) to access a previous version of Skype. You need Skype 6.6 which is the last version for XP Service Pack 2:
