I didn't get this from Satori myself but from a member of another forum way back then who was so pissed at Satori... Evidently he had to email them many times before they would let go of the serial for their 'freeware' PhotoXL, which was only up as freeware for a month or two... Evidently Satori was in utter agony & conflicted at releasing this... Anyway here's the desc-
This was released as freeware for a very limited amount of time back in 2000 then removed saying that they were updating a new freeware version which never happened, ever!... PhotoXL is their bottom level product but is quite capable... It works very differently from any other graphics package as ALL functions are 'procedural' & stored as a sequence of functions... Think of it as working in vector then only when you wanna output the image is when all the 'procedures' are converted into a bitmap... So it's extremely resolution independent... Even when importing a bitmap it is converted into a 'procedure' & this is also very light on the machine when working with gigantic graphics... One thing to note, pen pressure has been deactivated in this freeware version so it's more like 'free crippleware' but everything else works... I have included as many extras as I could find that would work, place these with files of same extension after install, some tuts are included as well...
