I did some mistake on my windows registry now I want to back my steps and resolve the issues which I am facing. I don't know what I had done on it.

2 choices, one do a system restore, or reinstall xp, if you do not know what you have done, then we here certainly do not know,

I usually keep things clean and defrag the registry a few times a year but My registry hardly becomes fragmented.
