recovery

    I am trying to do a full recovery on an XP machine, I used the recovery partition on the Compaq RE1630 computer. Everything went well until I downloaded and installed SP3 when I rebooted after installation it started cycling between the BIOS screen and the splash screen and would not boot into windows, so then I did another install using a set of CD’s for that computer and this time I downloaded SP3 from the MS website with the same result. I can boot into safe mode without a problem, any suggestions would be welcome. Bob
