Problems installing ms Office 2003 in MicroXP

I 've installed Micro XP and I 'm trying to install MS Office 2003.
But during installation I get the error:
"Error 1904. Setup cannot register module ...OFFICE11\1033\MSRCLR40.dll.
blah blah blah..."
I googled it but didn't find any solution.
What can I do to fix this?
Has anyone installed Office 2003 in Micro XP?

go to my onedrive and download MDAC.inf, save to desktop, right click and choose properties to unblock file, then double click to install or right click and choose install.

go to start, run and type in

I tried to follow this 'Reinstalling MDAC in XP SP3' from here: ww w.technipages.com/reinstalling-mdac-in-xp-sp3 (remove space between 'w's)
1. Click Start > Run and type %windir%\inf and click OK.

2. Right-click mdac.inf and select
And I can't find mdac.inf in this directory (G:\WINDOWS\inf, G is my drive letter)
Maybe I haven't installed mdac?

I have uploaded the file adcjavas.inc to my onedrive (above), you can download it.

if you downloaded the .inf file then from your desktop move it to G:\windows\inf.

You might be having problems since windows generally wants to be on C: but if you have run your os from there before, ??

Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or 3 contains MDAC version 2.81, which is currently not available for download at the Microsoft Web site as a standalone installation. If you try to install MDAC 2.8, which is the latest available standalone download of MDAC, you will receive a message that you already have a newer version of MDAC installed. Therefore, under Windows XP SP2/SP3, you must manually repair MDAC 2.81 as outlined below.

from here

since you will not be able to reinstall try the above. I will check back for your results.

Fisrtly, happy new year everybody!

Now...
I didn't make it from my xp cd, I downloaded it.
It's microXP by eXPerience.

I downladed SP3 and took al the files needed from there (quite a lot).
I also installed some extra files, about 20 (well, I suppose, I didn't count them) which I downloaded from dlldump and sites like this (I hope they have no virus...).

Anyway, at the end an error message appeared: "windows cannot find g:\windows\system32\odbcconf".
I made a diy odbcconf.chm (that's a help file, right?) and put it in g:\windows\system32\ but the same message appears.
I guess it's not chm file, it's just 'odbcconf'.

I tried to reinstall office 2003 and the initial error, (the one related to MSRCLR40.dll) again showed up.
I guess I 'll have to give up.

Have you ever used this os before??

There are no legal downloads of xp except for the version provided by Microsoft and you need 6 floppy disks to install.

I do know that you cannot delete the OBDC folder as that is needed for other parts of windows and as you have just experienced obviously MDAC is needed also,

There are over 3500 files in sp3, I know that you want a micro xp, but have you thought of just downloading and installing the entire sp3??

You can tell me if you need a few more files and I can upload them for you.

Either Jose or Myself have lots of files already and you can browse through and see if there are more files already up for you to download.

Do you have an install cd original or oem??

ALSO:

Windows will not save stored passwords, however, this only really
applied to Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, which are removed.
You will be fine using Firefox or Opera web browsers and Thunderbird
email client for emails. Those are self contained programs and take
care of storing your passwords by themselves.

From the readme on the experience website, even if you do not use outlook express in a real installation it can be disabled but you need this for other parts of windows

====

There is a text file
in the eXPerience folder on the desktop that has a list of programs
that work and includes some that don't work (not many). Even Office
2007 installs on this version of Windows

from same site as above, so maybe 2007 will work but not 2003

==

You might want to post in the above forum??

==

Also, you might want to try OpenOffice.org as any office 2003 docs are compatible and openoffice is free
