In Power Option Properties after setting a power scheme, when I click on "Save As" I get a small notification window with the title "Power Policy Manager unable to set policy" and the text in the window reads "Indicates two revision levels are incompatible". I tried many combinations in Power Option Properties but unable to save any power scheme. What can I do about this?

I am not giving you a hard time or diminishing your value as a person.
    I am giving good advice.
I fixed you tube not working by buying a bag of peanuts and feeding squirrels
the squirrels were very glad idea.

WINDOWS TEN IS A SOCIAL RAPIST, it records your every key stroke, this is the problem with letting autistic *** people run social arenas, they do not understand boundaries. this planet will never learn to keep its hands were they should as long as there is not out rage against invasive behaviors.
it all starts with the little things, moving upward till folks are mugged and worse.
***Not to be confused with autistic spectrum disorder, which is a cheap shot bundling of many issues, that do not have to include empathy failure or not caring about others personal space,

On the Power Options window I had only 2 options: Home/Office Desk and Portable/Laptop. I deleted Portable/Laptop. Now I am left with only Home/Office Desk. The option to delete this one is faded out in the window so unable to delete this. Unable to save this either because of the problem in my 1st post. I also can't find any option to create a new scheme This is where I am stuck.

Also, strangely, the schemes that come with XP by default. Presentation, Always On, Minimal Power Management, and Max Battery, are all missing.

first run the recovery console to see if you can fix what is missing, and if not then you should run sfc /scannow to replace any missing .dll's, then see if you can save, below is how mine is set

I tried system restore and the missing power options came back. Something must have happened during the last 4 days without my knowledge.

Only problem now is: the 3rd step in the link above says "Proceed with creating your new profile using the name you just deleted. In the Power Option Properties window I can't find any option to create a new profile. What am I missing here?

I am also back to the earlier state. Only Home/Office Desk and Portable/Laptop are there. Other power options have disappeared again. I am the administrator and this happened to my account. There is another user account that was created at install stage that is not used and non administrative, I opened that for a look and all the power options are there for that account!!

there must be a program running that is removing the options, if a system restore fixed it, then somewhere in that 4 days you installed a program? find the program , uninstall, reboot and see if that does it.

in power options you click save as to create the profile

I am told, when a comp starts to drop preferences it often means the hard drive is going, I can get windows 7 machines for about $125 us, and i am also told i can back load it to use XP,:):);) if your issues continue, that is a option, living in a world of sheep who monkey see monkey do, is a drag, but they ditch great stuff.
I have a graphic artist's FLAT SQUARE CRT bulb screen, real low UV light, zero sleep issues, and a picture sweeter then diode will ever make- I got it free
now is a great time to pick this stuff up.
