picture files from xp to windows 10

    Hello fine people,after a year of prodding my wife i got her to let go of XP [she loves it dearly],I took her picture files [jpg] and put on flash drive,so far so good.When i put on windows 10 80% of them have long file # to them.All her pictures [about 500 or more she had named and dated,so now she cannot see whwt it is untill she double click them.What am i doing wrong and is there a way to do it different,,,[would be willing to buy a program to make they went on windows 10 the same way they where on xp.help please
