I can all of a sudden not open attached pdf files to new and old (saved) e-mails, in Outlook Express. The system tells me that the file does not have a program associated with it. It instructs me to create an association in the Folder Options - Control Panel. I tried to but got stuck when I was asked to name the "extension" file. I can save the attachment on Desktop from where it opens without difficulty. But I normally save these e-mails with pdf attached files in appropriate folders on Outlook Express and it is a nuisance not to be able to open them from there.

What pdf reader do you have installed?

    1. try right clicking on attachment and choose "open with" and then choose your reader.

    2. uninstall your reader, reboot and reinstall.
