This is the old PD Particles which is like 21 years old now... There's a portable & an installer version, the installer has many extra optipustics & gradients... The portable has just whatever comes stock...
PD Particles is just the brush engine of Project Dogwaffle but much can be done... I like to make alien vegetation to bring into Bryce as billboards... You would do this placing a ton in the background where it's not apparent they are not 3D... this is a poor example but just to show-
Then you would put your REAL 3D upfront... The billboards cost nothing for render usage...
PD Particles can use tablet pressure there's lots to adjust in the brush engine-

Seems that no matter what image format you save you always have a white BG... I have included Chromagic & you just load the image into Chromagic & click on the BG white area & it goes transparent THEN you can save as PNG...
