I wrote a longer post but after posting it the post just deleted itself.
Jagex made a "Jagex Laucher" for Windows 7 and up about 2022 and seems to have locked the original Java launcher out of the game in july 2024 (black screen after logging in, but maybe that's a problem on my part). Some badly made article stated that it's still possible to play trough old versions of Runelite (versions 1.6.2 and lower i think), but I was not able to check it since my computers are badly set up and i don't know if the errors are launcher or computer related. Maybe Runelite still works fine, maybe even the original one still works fine, I have no idea.
This is why I'm asking if anybody tried in recent times or would try to run it on XP.
