    OEMINFO file error
    I tried branding my grandson's netbook with XP to prevent theft or help in recovery if it is stolen.

    It looked easy and no fail from this site, http://tweaks.com/windows/36781/quic...ng-w-oem-text/
    Also have a picture in System 32 that he wants on it. 130×173 BMP

    Anyways I typed the info below into Notepad and saved as oeminfo.ini in C:\Windows\System32 but it doesn't show up when I rightclick My Computer > Properties

    [General]
    Manufacture=Archos
    Model=JIo1LY

    [Support Information]
    Line1=Maintainence & Repair by:
    Line2=Grandpa -
    Line3=Owned & Operated by:
    Line4=Riley N__

    So simple to personalize a computer since; I found nice little helper program. OEM Configurator 2.0: Free Portable Utility to Add Customized Strings (OEM Information) and Logo in Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 System Properties
    http://www.askvg.com/oem-configurato...s-vista-and-7/

    Since I already had OEM LOGO photo in System32 folder it took less than I minute to download, run enter info and click OK.
