I recently installed XP 64 on a new hdd. Same CD I have been using for years. (same mobo used previously)
This time there was no 'add or remove programs' in the control panel.
Also, comp ignores intering password box, clicking on 'administer' box starts XP
    Frustrating, , , ,

    Ideas??

I had used TweakUI to set things up (on this new install). In the Control panel I un-checked the box for this item. Re-checked this item & Wallah! there it is, , , ,

I searched for "Add Remove not showing in Control Panel Windows XP" but found nothing helpful. I haven't used TweakUI in XP for years and completely forgot that it had the ability to hide Control Panel items.

    Kudos!

HAHA! Yeah! I got a little over zealous this time with Tweak.

Glad to have you back Liz!

Glad you figured it out. TweakUI is pretty powerful. Locked myself out of a box once with that--oops!
