I suspected there was a forum for those of us who use and appreciate XP.
Went looking and here you were.
Current PC in use right now, XP Pro, SP3, with userswitcheragent telling websites I am 7 Pro, 64 bit, so no more of those "you bust update your OS" messages.
I have an XP 64 bit beside this one, a Dell Precision 490, and four months ago when I got it, I re-loaded XP Pro onto it and could hear the alarm bells at MicroSoft from my back porch (ANOTHER XP machine on line?).
Wife has an XP Pro 64 bit also.
I intend to use this until they make it impossible to do so or they bury Bill Gates, whichever is first.
Macrium Reflect image helps if there is a problem...and 16 months ago when the hard drive died there was...new drive, re-loaded, and here I am.
I have a Toshiba laptop I had to get with 8.0, hate it, but I spent considerable time making it look and operate close to XP, including Outlook Express....fooled a MS employee who was on the 8 development team. He was not happy with me that I was still using XP (tough), I told him it was 8 (before 8.1), he grabbed the laptop and click click click, he said Holy Stuff, it IS 8! How did you do that?
IF there were drivers for this Toshiba to allow XP to run, it would have been installed within the week of arrival.
Dave
