    HELLO FELLOW XP-ERS
I deleted adobe flash just to see if i could get by with out,,, i cant.

when ever i go to a ADOBE download site including adobe.com,,,, the down load button spins forever or
as usual I am getting dragged into someones science project on how to fix it but does not download it

Adobe says i must let my anti virus down load the file, but i have turned off all my blockers including AVAST,,GHOSTERY ANTI TRACKER and NO SCRIPT

I have service pack three so that not the issue.

I have some HTLM 5 thing that works sometimes from my Mozilla firefox (extensions?) that sometimes works on you tube, but most times there I just use you tube downloader to own it, tho some times you tube will just play, most times it just spins forever.

I want adobe back, so when i go to news sites, to a video, the video pops up, then for a few seconds before java gets blocked I hit the right hand upper corner "DOWNLOAD" button,
and then it down loads, but that now stays blank.

thanks for help and stay safe out there

    jim

Good advice but you're not going to stay too safe if you insist on using Adobe Flash which is full of so many security vulnerabilites.

Exactly which site(s) do you go to that still require Flash on XP? Which browser are you using (sounds like you must be using an old version of Firefox)? I use MyPal on XP SP3 and haven't found any popular website that requires Flash for video playback.

    IT WAS AVAST BLOCKING IT.

machine works better, and yes adobe is also a info steal-er, it sells everything you do, unless start page stops it from seeing,

WOW MAN, REMEMBER IF ITS FREE YOUR THE PRODUCT.

    Clip, thanks for yours-
    firefox/startpage

i think some other issue was at work here,
I suspect my "Ghostery" or "No Script"setting were blocking u tube, I was getting the forever down load spinning dot issue a few places plus===

    AS WELL yes again--:eek::eek::eek:
it turns out firefox was blocking my version of HTML 5 because it was all of a sudden bugged, so i added some other version html5 from Firefox and now it works fine

QUESTION should i now be able to ditch/delete/bloto adobe flash,
    I don't trust the f-ers?????????????
