I've been using this music player for over 15 years on all my Windows computers (there's also an Android version). It's portable and has all kinds of skins and visualizations.
Plays everything - .CDA, .AAC, .AC3, .APE, .DTS, .FLAC, .IT, .MIDI, .MO3, .MOD, .M4A, .M4B, .MP1, .MP2, .MP3, .MPC, .MTM, .OFR, .OGG, .OPUS, .RMI, .S3M, .SPX, .TAK, .TTA, .UMX, .WAV, .WMA, .WV, .XM, .DSF, .DFF, MKA, AA3, AT3, OMA, .WebM,
.MDZ, .ITZ, .S3Z, .XMZ, .MPEG-DASH.
Can be controlled from the system tray when minimized.
You will need versions 3.x because recent builds no longer support XP. There is also a skin editor on their site for those of you more artistically inclined.

I'm using version 3.55 but up to version 3.60 supports XP.

I don't have WindowsBlinds or any other add-on, only stock Windows XP Pro SP3. The transparency effect comes from the skin. Not all skins have transparency but you can search the huge collection of skins on their website. I searched for all the ones with Aero and these are the results.

Make sure when searching for skins they are made for AIMP 3.55, skins for AIMP 4 or higher won't work with XP.
