WinXP has media folders in your home directory "My Files", like Downloads, Pictures, Documents, etc. After installation these folders are on your primary partition where XP is installed.

Modern Win OS allow to move these to another partition, for example "data".

I think I managed to do the same on Win XP:

    1. move media folders into data partition
    2. create links to these folders in "My Files"
    3. change Icons of the links
The folders still show up as links but it is fine. Is there a direct, more convenient way to do this? For example, by making "My Files" directly link to "data" instead of original location?

    Perfect, thank you Elizabeth.

This thread should be marked as solved, if anyone knows how to do that...
