loss of connection

    halifax, nova scotia, canada
    I have a home network 892.11n.
    I have a Dell Dimension 5150 desktop which fails to maintain a network connection after ~5 minutes.:eek:
    Base station and Asus Eee netbook work as expected.
    Tech service claims no problem with network connection at their location.
    Can there be something at my location which can cause this problem?
    Is this the proverbial "Ghost in the Machine" which has no solution?
    Any input would be appreciated.:)
