Locked Screen

How do I over-ride a password to gain access to my files? I'd secure my Windows XP Home screen with a password to protect documents and images I'm putting together for publication. I forgot to turn off the computer before going on a month vacation. The router was turned off and the XP's WiFi USB had been disconnected. I just got back and no matter how many times I rebooted the computer and entered my password each time--NO LUCK! Any help will be appreciated as I need to go back to my project.

Try going to safe mode.Restart your pc.After the bios screen goes aways start pressing f8 on your keyboard. After that select safe mode and press enter. Then select the administrator account at the login and you might get into your files then :)

I got all the way to Safe Mode but could not find "Administrator Account." Also tried Safe Mode with Networking," and got nowhere. Since I was in a rush to get back to my project, I took it to a computer shop and let the tech person hack it. Set me back $50. Thanks for trying to help.
