Joining a workgroup printer

    So this is a little strange but I have 2 computers here at work one is windows 8.1 the other is windows xp professional. I am on the XP one and I am trying to connect to the printer that is locally connected to my windows 8.1 computer. I am trying to do this via workgroups, and I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I have the workgroup name the same on both computers, and when I search for networked printers, it comes up on the list. When I try to JOIN it I get a prompt to LOGIN and I don't know what I am supposed to be putting in because I didn't set up a username and password for this workgroup.
