are you sure the message said to update java OR to install java??

I would first insure that your pc is clean and uninstall all jave products

    1. what is your current antivirus??

    2. do you have any other scanners installed??

    3. do this please:

Download, install, update and do full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes Free (MBAM): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/

    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

Remove all found, reboot, and run again until scans run clean, these can be removed afterwards if you so choose. Run scans one at a time, please.

    4. below link has instructions on using java's remover tool

    The position is as follows.
I got a message on a web site that i often visit, to update Java.I dont have Java ,so downloaded that.It did not solve the problem.I then decided to use YAC(yet another cleaner) which i used before, but forgot about it.That did the trick.
However,i now have another problem.I have a message which shows before i open Outlook Express
ie The instruction at XXXXXXXXXXXX referenced memory at XXXXXXXXXXXXX.The memory could not be written.Click ok to terminate or cancel to debug the program.
By the way the Anti Virus i use is AVG.
Elizabeth23 i have recorded the two web sites you have recommmended.

    The exact wording.

The instruction at 0X4c086b4e referenced memory at 04X4c0b66dc.
The memory could not be written.
Click OK to terminate the program.Click CANCEL to debug the program.

first, are you fully updated at Microsoft updates??

some reasons for this are drivers and bad ram, since this occurs with outlook express go the the following:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2398839

and do each solution , post back with results

    ==

side note as ie is no longer supported, I would go with a different browser and a different email, unless outlook can be accessed from firefox or google or whichever browser you use.

ie should only be used for updates and/or possibly some sites which will only work on IE.
